Pikes Peak Test Day # 2

Another great day today!
We were testing at Pikes Peak International Speedway with quite a few other competitors, with the Skelta. Letting it slide around about and getting used to the high speed handling. First part of the agenda today with areo testing to configure the rear wing angle. After some runs we kept moving it, and we finally settled a high-downforce setup at the rear, then we attached
the front splitter and then things changed even more. Coming off the highspeed banking into the infield we didnt need the brakes (!!!), just a simple lift and it felt like the Skelta was planted hard, a simple turn in, balancing on trail throttle, a snick back to 4th and power on all the way back up to the back straight, snick 5th, then hard on brakes for the hairpin.

Images below.

The Mitsubishi Miev cars set up.
Old classic Hudson. Soooo cool!
Dont touch or get anywhere near it, untill all clear.

The Toyota was incredibly fast!

900 hp NSX.

Coyote V8
The Honda (HPD) Powered Skelta

The Coyote V8 blew it's engine on the back straight in spectacular fashion.

Once the front splitter was installed as the final part of testing we found we could run through turn one without brakes. Amazing.
Honda Powered Turbo NSX with 900 hp had shut-down issues. We decided to get in and help, after blowing down a few fuel lines we cleared the vapor lock. It was a very hot day.
Pulling fuel lines and clearing the vapor lock via the reserve tank cleared the system and it fired back up again. It saved the driver/owner from having to pull all the fuel pumps thinking he had a broken fuel pump.
