After a meeting of the minds last night we and Skelta sports cars have come to the decision that we WILL still be competing in the 2012 90th running of Pikes Peak, and await the decision on the new postponed date.
The PPIHC organisers have sent out a mass email asking for input for three possible dates and we put our vote in.
The PPIHC team are simply some of best and most focused and entrant-friendly team Ive worked with.

The 6 miles trek through the Rockies begin
Yeah, she's smiling now....
Wind swept trees tell of massives winds and frozen chills.
SPLAT! Lots of fallen trees.
Cath takes the route up.
I made it up, this rock had a fantastic view and a huge drop!
The view from the top of the rock. Sweet!!
Off to the top of Mt Evans, 14,000 feet. Great drive.
Protoypes were in abundance as they use this road for their high altitude testing, we're due up here the the next day for Skelta testing.
A real mountain billy goat at the top of Mt Evans
More Land Rover Prototypes. There were also VW prototypes with test equipment and Audis.
Pikes Peak postponed
We got news yesterday that Pikes Peak had been postponed till 'further notice'. This is due to the fires raging in the immediate area of Pikes Peak, and it is a call the the Forestry services made, not Pikes Peak.

That said, we still went on with our testing we had planned for today, which was high altitude ECU readings and settings and tyre pressure setting at altitude. Anything with air expands when the air is thin, hence the test. All went well and we got our answers. Huge thanks to David Hinde, aka, Merlin, for being here to do the ECU and logging setup, he really is one of the best ECU tuners around.

We hike away
Wednesday, 27, 2012. Got up ths morning and decided to do some hiking. We started at 10,000++ feet and it went up from there. Not easy to breath when your up that high slogging along running out of breath. So we went about 6+ miles in length for a return trip, back to the hotel for some lunch and some more running around. Photos to come.
Arrived in Colorado
Tuesday, 27th, 2012. Only to hear the sad news about all the bush fires that have raged and getting worse, we dont know if Pikes Peak is threatened, but the blaze is now at the base of the mountain. There has been some noise about cancelling it and I really hope this doesnt happen. We've spent a ton of money and time, just to get to here.

We bump into the Bull Run
The bull Run is a freaky 'rally', where expensive cars and their owners travel the country in the Lamborghini's, Ferrari's etc and anything else that's usually expensive. Some fun photos here, whatever the premise is, Im sure they had a lot of fun with plenty of laughs.
